We all know that something has to give in Washington, D.C.
The overwhelming majority of Americans, Texans and, yes, residents of the 25th Congressional District of Texas, agree that our current Congress is an absolute disaster.
This Congress is currently caught up in spiteful, partisan warfare that is severely hurting our country. Decisions that are being made today in Congress will no doubt have a lasting harmful effect on our children and grandchildren. No one can dispute that.
Our incumbent Congressman Roger Williams – who doesn’t even live in the 25th Congressional District – doesn’t deserve a free pass from this egregious behavior. Williams has been front and center in every one of the congressional initiatives that appear designed to hurt the working men and women of the 25th Congressional District.
He has been a virtual rubber stamp for votes that will reduce access to healthcare, harm the environment, pass tax breaks exclusively for the wealthiest Americans, deny a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions, and more.
If you read his press releases, Rubber-stamp Roger wants you to believe the latest “tax reform” – benefiting the wealthiest Americans and the expense of the poorest – was his idea. We’ve increased the debt by $1.5 trillion by putting everyone’s social security at risk so Rubber-stamp Roger could impress the wealthiest 1% of Americans. He has to go.
I’ve lived and worked in the 25th Congressional District of Texas for almost 25 years now. I’m not a politician and have never run for office. But, like you, I’ve been paying attention – and I know right from wrong. And what we see out of Congress – and our Congressman – sure isn’t right, not even close.
I’m not willing to sit by and watch a bunch of mean-spirited folks run this country into the ground. I don’t believe that is what the residents of Congressional 25 want to see either. That’s why I’m running for Congress, and I hope to earn your vote.
